Trip 25: Ultimate Game Day Weekend – Featuring Mlb And Nfl Games
Jay Buckley’s Baseball Tours is pleased to announce the details of the 13th annual Ultimate Game Day Weekend featuring MLB, College Football, and NFL games. Join us in Detroit, the Motor City, for exciting Major League Baseball action as teams fight for the playoffs along with meaningful regular season matchups for the National Football League and NCAA College Football.
We will check into the hotel on Friday before we head downtown to take in an interleague matchup between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Detroit Tigers. This will be a 6:40 first pitch at Comerica Park. Who knows we may even be lucky enough to see a Tarik Skubal vs Paul Skenes matchup?
Saturday, we will head over to the “Big House!” Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor is the LARGEST stadium in the United States and the third largest in the world. It has an official seating capacity of 107,601 but has hosted crowds as large as 115,109. Not only is this a bucket list item to attend a game at the Big House, but this will be a premier matchup between two familiar BIG 10 opponents. This game between the Iowa Hawkeyes and Michigan Wolverines will have major implications on the final season rankings as both teams who have high hopes for the year battle it out on the gridiron during week 4 of the college football season. Both teams landed in the CBS post-spring top 25 rankings: Iowa at #23 and Michigan at #16.
Sunday will be back to the downtown area of the Motor City across the street from where we watched the baseball game on Friday night as Ford Field sits next door to Comerica Park. We will watch the New York Jets take on the Detroit Lions during week 3 of the NFL season. Led by Coach Dan Campbell, and offensive powers Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown, the Lions are looking to get back to the top of the NFC North where they stood in 2023 and 2024. After the game on Sunday, we will have time for sightseeing and dinner on your own in the downtown area of Detroit.
